I'm Paige Winters, a Digital Design Lead with 13 years experience in design. For the last seven and a half years, I've been at HDMZ, a Chicago-based agency for life science, biotech, and healthcare companies. I joined as an Art Director and have been promoted twice. Today I'm responsible for setting the design direction for client sites and platforms, building their design systems in Figma, and shaping UX and UI from discovery to final delivery. I've also brought AI tools like Figma AI into our design process, significantly cutting the time responsive design takes.
What I like most about design is turning complicated science into clear interfaces and building systems that hold up as a company grows. I'm a rule follower at heart, so I do my best work inside a good process and building design systems.
My career started in print, editorial, and brand identity. I moved to the web at Happy Medium, where I designed responsive design systems, an e-commerce site, and a patient-focused healthcare site. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University and completed the NN/g UX Certification in 2024.
Originally from Iowa, I've landed in the quaint college town of Northfield, MN, where I aspire to be a better gardener.
